Oneth Coco has various Coconut Husk products such as Fiber, Coir, Peat and Coconut Husk chips. Coco fibre pith also known as coco peat is spongy, lignocellulos, quick water absorption & retention, provide better aeration and supply of satisfactory moisture to the plant, and maintain good temperature and good PH value for plants. It is an ecological by-product of the coconut fibre extraction process. It is 100% natural product that is reusable and Ecological.
Fibre
Coconut fiber, obtained from unripe coconut, it is a natural fibre extracted from the husk of the coconut. The Coconut husk is submerged in water or without being submerged, and subsequently, the fibre is removed from the Coconut husk by combing and crushing the shells. Used in the products such as Floormats, Doormats, Brushes, and Mattresses. There are two types of fibre in the industry call white fibre and brown fibre. The raw coconut fibres show lengths varying from 10cmto 40cm from 40 μm to 350 μm.
A. Brown Fibre: This is the most commonly used type of coconut fibre and is extracted from the outer husk of the coconut. It is strong, rough, and has a high lignin content, making it durable and resistant to rotting. Brown coir is commonly used for making doormats, floor mats, brushes, and ropes.
B. White Fiber: This type of fibre is obtained from the finer, inner fibres of the coconut husk. It is softer, lighter, and has a lower lignin content compared to brown fibre. White fibre is used for making finer brushes, twine, and cushion filling.
Both types of coconut fibre are eco-friendly and biodegradable, making them a sustainable alternative to synthetic materials.
Coir
It is an environmentally friendly alternative to peat-moss, and doesn’t contain any peat at all. The brown fibrous material which we use in coir compost, lies between the outer husk and inner hard shell that can be removed to make what we know today as ‘coconut fibre, Once hydrated it takes on many forms depending upon how you want to use your fresh new found resource. from growing seeds through establishing root cuttings all while providing an ideal base for homemade composts.
The production of coir, or coconut husk is on the rise. Production has increased by about 605% since 1990 when it was just over 100 thousand tonnes per year! The main exporters are India and Sri Lanka with around 80% of the total being exported.
Peat
Coco peat, a growing medium extracted from coconut husks, is commonly used to improve soil or as a growing medium. It’s naturally advantageous for water-holding capacity and nutrient provision, particularly in hydroponics. Additionally, it has antifungal properties when incorporated into soil. Coco peat is compatible with many plants with a pH level between 5.0 and 7.5. It can be shaped into different forms such as bricks or disks and can be customized, adding to its versatility. Coco peat is particularly abundant in tropical regions with easy access to coconut husks. Peat can be utilised in various industries
A. Agriculture
Cocopeat high EC can be used as a growing medium as well as soil amendment to improve the soil’s christianistic and moisture. Mostly used in Greenhouse and hydroponic systems to grow Lattuce, Tomato, Stoberry, Pumpkins, Pepar Etc. There is an advantage that promotes water uptake of the plant thus increasing weight and height or length of the stems. Its high water holding capacity results in greater fresh root weight which helps the plants absorb more nutrients.
